Together, we can help ensure that fat folks can find more respectful, informed, and affirming care for years to come.
Why the Directory Matters
When fat folks seek care, we are often dismissed or receive lower quality care. Too often, we meet with multiple providers before getting accurate diagnoses and full spectrum care, or worse, we stop seeking out care altogether. This disparity in care contributes to poor health outcomes and can even cost lives.
The Fat Lib Directory is changing the way fat folks find care by making critical information about providers available before we even book an appointment. Thousands of people use the directory every year looking for more inclusive care. Community members have called this resource vital and even life-saving.
What Your Support Makes Possible
Created in 2024, the Fat Lib Directory has grown to over 70 providers. A team of volunteers has diligently built and maintained this vital resource, but hosting and expanding the directory requires additional financial support.
A $25 community ticket helps cover directory hosting and maintenance.
A $45 supporter ticket helps build new directory tools like search functions and filtering.
A $100 gift supports outreach to clinics and healthcare professionals.
As we enter our third year hosting the directory, we have big plans to keep expanding the directory in 2027. Your donations will support:
Increasing the number of provider profiles through outreach and advocacy about the directory.
We will bring informational sessions and tabling to healthcare clinics, professional associations, and conferences.
We will onboard a team of volunteers to continue outreach to recommended healthcare providers.
Improving the functionality of the directory.
Now, with over 70 profiles, the directory is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate and host. We will begin the process to update the directory technology to allow for more user-friendly search and filter capabilities, tools for more user-friendly provider updates, and easier management of the backend.
Maintaining the existing directory
Directory maintenance includes web hosting, administrative fees, and other ongoing costs.
